Just got done with my first day casting, and boy was it a LONG day. We did 11 games total, arriving at the arena at 11am and leaving around 11pm. I'm pretty sure I talked more yesterday than I ever have.
I wasn't able to get the url for the stream in time to post it, but here it is for future reference:
http://www.esport.org/
Jaczie (my casting partner) talked with Heidi (my girlfriend for the uninformed) and gave her the link the day before we were going to cast, so hopefully she will post a comment here with instructions to its use as I really don't know. I think that there is some .exe file that is needed, but it should be self-explanatory.
A few days ago I was able to attend a fan meeting with two 4 Kings players, Grubby and Tod. I must say that it was really weird to see actual fans of players, as over the last few days I've gotten to know them and they are really just people with a love for what they do.
I'm still really exhausted from last night, need to go and get some food and take a shower.

hi joe! this is heidi's friend vanessa. congratulations on getting this opportunity, it sounds like the experience of a lifetime! i hope you are getting heidi a bunch of cool souveniers. i also hope the fine people of china are not playing jokes and urinating in your soft drinks. i would also like to know if that rumor that the chinese people are a bunch of dirty-kneed flashers is true or not. that was really wrong of me to write that in case you don't get it...i am really immature sometimes. anyway, good luck with your casting, and enjoy your trip!
Hey Joe,
It's your biggest fan! You looked great on tv and you were so professional, like you had been doing this for a long time and were right at home. You came across as a very intelligent and knowledgable broadcaster. Can't wait to see you again on Monday! Love and miss you, Mom
Hi hon! You really were awesome during your casting! For the rest of you, this is joe's "girlfriend for the uninclined" -(???) :) If anyone's interested in watching the games and joe cast:
1)go to: http://www.esport.org/
2) click on the message on the screen that says something along the lines of needing Octoshape
3) save Octoshape and agree to the user terms
4) argue with your virus protection and tell it it really is okay to let that program access the internet automatically
5) go back to the esport page and refresh it
6) click on "live"
7) wait a few seconds and if nothing is happening check 2 things - 1st click the current date on the calendar on the very bottom of the page and 2nd if that's still not working it might mean that there isn't a current cast going and if you leave your computer on it will start automatically when the casting starts. (I know this last part because I left mine on the first day when they were showing the asian announcers instead and, as there hadn't been a stream to adjust my volume to, I woke up abruptly at 3 a.m. with chinese men screaming in my office!)
pics are so very kewl. was thinking that perhaps you weren't really in china as there weren't many of pics with you in them :-) haha. i am so envious of the food too!!!! i'm going to Genji's tomorrow now! :-) about as close as i can get around here. in case you didn't read the MPL email, i finally got knocked out of first place (by 2 points). can't wait to see your next broadcast joe. later!
